EinScan Libre - FAQ

Q: What's the battery life of the EinScan Libre?

A: EinScan Libre can deliver maximum scan time 3 hours for each battery provided 2 rechargeable batteries. You can also extended the battery life by connecting a 100W PD3.0 USB-C power bank.

Q: Can I switch batteries during the Scanning Job?

A: You can switch the batteries while scanning, but before doing so, you’ll need to connect a power source, such as a power bank (100W PD3.0 USB-C power bank). This will allow you to continue using your scanner seamlessly during the battery switching.

Q: Does EinScan Libre require less markers for scanning?

A: EinScan Libre provides 3 different modes, both IR Rapid and Laser HD mode can support feature alignment or texture alignmnet for no-marker required scanning. As the IR mode provides larger FOV and far working distance, when using IR Rapid, paste markers 50cm each and 30cm each for IR Adaptive mode, which dramatically reduce marker use.

Q: What's the minimum and maximum part size that can be scanned by EinScan Libre?

A: The Laser HD mode is designed to scan fine details and small parts because of its narrow working distance, the minimum parts can be captured is around 5cm. Thanks to the big FOV provided in IR mode, making it even more efficient for scanning big parts up to 10m. The limit can be extended by align multiple projects.

Q: Except processing data on EinScan Libre itself, is there another way to process data?

A: Accompany with EinScan Libre, we also provided the new designed PC software EXScan Libre, which delivers powerful functions and streamlined user experience as we always do. The EXScan Libre can support multiple projects and resolution fusion and provides more data editing tools with custimized parameters settings.

Q: How can I choose the right scanning mode for each of my projects?

A: For objects larger than 1x1x1 meter, we recommend the IR Rapid or IR Adaptive modes. The IR Adaptive mode is particularly effective for black or reflective surfaces but requires markers for tracking reference.

For objects smaller than 1x1x1 meter, the optimal choice is the Laser HD mode, which provides high-resolution detail and allows for feature or texture alignment, eliminating the need for markers.

For black or reflective materials, if marker placement is feasible, the wide-range laser mode is preferred. However, if markers cannot be placed, the small-range detailed mode is more suitable. Standard materials typically benefit from the IR Rapid mode, while projects with high precision requirements should utilize marker or global marker scanning modes for enhanced accuracy.

By considering these factors, you can choose the most suitable scanning mode for your specific parts.

Q: Interface and connection?

A: The EinScan Libre supports powering and charging via the USB-C, and it can also be used for data transfer and PC software EXScan Libre sync as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Gigabit Ethernet. The USB 3.0 Type-A port is provided for USB flash drive connection and data sharing.

Q: What is texture alignment used for in Laser HD mode?

A: The texture alignment feature in Laser HD mode is specifically designed to assist in scanning objects with challenging surface materials, such as metallic finishes or colorful vases, which may have fewer identifiable features but are rich in texture.

Q: What is the warrany for EinScan Libre?

A: Each EinScan Libre comes with 1 year standard warranty. Standard warranty can be extended and we also offer Peace of Mind warranty plan to provide more premium benefits. Contact sales@shining3d.com for more information.

Q: How to get the most accurate data when scanning large objects?

A: To achieve the most accurate data when scanning large parts, utilize the EinScan Libre's global marker scanning feature. This process involves an initial scan to capture only the positions of the markers, with the projectors turned off to ensure accurate readings. Once the global marker scan is complete, you can proceed with the actual scanning. Optionally, using a precise calibration scale bar can significantly enhance overall volumetric accuracy.

Q: What are the export data formats?

A:  EinScan Libre and EXScan Libre support export in STL; OBJ; PLY; 3MF; ASC; LAS

Q:  Can EinScan Libre scan outdoor?

A: We are totally awared that our customers will bring EinScan Libre to any sites, outdoor scanning is one of the major features being considered when we designed this product. All modes provided by EinScan Libre can be used for outdoor scanning and there is a specific outdoor mode.

Q: Why will I need the EinScan Libre?

A: The EinScan Libre delivers a fully wireless, standalone 3D scanning experience. It offers the perfect balance of freedom and efficiency, ensuring reliable results with versatile, user-friendly operation. Equipped with both laser and infrared light, the device adapts to a wide range of materials and excels at capturing detailed textures. Which makes it an idea scanner for archaeology & heritage preservation, manufacturing, energy, forensics and other industries.

Q: Is there another way to process data besides directly on the EinScan Libre's screen?

A: The EinScan Libre is a standalone device, but we also developed the new EXScan Libre software– included– to provide even more powerful features to process your data. With EXScan Libre, you can manage multiple projects, fuse resolutions, and take advantage of various data editing tools, all with customizable settings to suit your needs.

Q: What connectivity and power options does the EinScan Libre offer?

A: The EinScan Libre can be powered and charged through USB-C, which also facilitates data transfer and synchronization with EXScan Libre PC software. It also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Gigabit Ethernet for seamless network connectivity. Its USB 3.0 Type-A port is available for USB flash drive connection and data sharing.
