FAQ about EinScan Trak

Q: What is the accuracy of EinScan Trak?

A: The volumetric accuracy of EinScan Trak is 0.1mm within its tracking volume, which means in the one tracking station, scan accuracy can reach 0.1mm whatever the object's size is.

Q: How to use Scanner Mode/Handheld scanner?

A:The scanner can be detached from the spherical frame and used independently without recalibration.

The data scanned with scanner mode can be aligned into the tracking mode result and become the one final model

Q: Does EinScan Trak support multi-station scanning or Hybrid Leapfrog?

A: EinScan Trak does not currently support using one scanner with multiple trackers at the same time.

However, users can reposition the tracker and extend the scanning area using Hybrid Leapfrog, Global Marker, or multi-project alignment.

Q: What are the tracking specifications?

  • Tracking volume: Up to 15 m³
  • Tracking distance: 800–4,000 mm
  • Maximum field of view: Approximately 4,800 × 4,200 mm

Q: What carrying case is included?

A: EinScan Trak comes with a portable hard case featuring combination locks and multidirectional wheels.

The tracker and scanner can be stored in the same case. A separate compact carrying case for the handheld scanner is also available.

Q:  Can Tracking Mode and Scanner Mode be used in the same project?

A: Yes. Users can switch between Tracking Mode and Scanner Mode within the same project group.

Data can be aligned and merged even when different point distances or scanning modes are used.

Q: Which laser scanning modes are available?

A: Both Tracking Mode and Handheld Mode support three blue-laser configurations:

  • 19 + 19 crossed laser lines for fast scanning
  • 7 parallel laser lines for detailed scanning
  • Single laser line for scanning deep holes and narrow areas

Q: How does the wireless connection work?

A:  EinScan Trak supports fully wireless operation.

A dedicated router connects the tracker and scanner to the computer, allowing both devices to operate without data cables.

Q:  How long does the battery last, and how many batteries are included?

A:  The system provides up to 5.5 hours of battery life.

Four rechargeable batteries are included, and the system supports hot-swapping individual batteries during operation.

Q: Which software functions are included?

A:  The software includes practical tools such as:

  • Cutting Plane
  • Local Resolution
  • Reflective Surface Mode
  • All align and measurement function are moved into EXMeasure

Q: Does EinScan Trak support texture scanning?

A:  Yes. Both Tracking Mode and Scanner Mode support 5 MP full-color texture scanning.

This expands the system's applications in cultural heritage preservation, digital asset creation, visualization, and other color-sensitive workflows.

Q: What is local resolution?

A:  You can use this function to scan with higher resolution but you don't need to delete the current data you selected, to save more time when scanning small details on a large object and realize more flexible scan resolution setting.

Q: Can the spherical frame and tracker be used with other scanner?

A:  No, the tracker and scanner are 1 to 1 matched to ensure accuracy and stable tracking, and the distance of scanner are also controled to better adapt the tracking system.
